Karl-Theodor-Brücke bridge is a famous old bridge in Heidelberg, Germany. This old stone bridge building was built by Prince Karl Theodor during the late 17th century. But in the early years, this bridge was built in wooden structures and it has been rebuilt many times due to floods.
The bridge is adorned with 2 monuments found at each bridge gate since the medieval times. One monument was a structure of Karl Theodore. While the other end bridge gate has a statue of Minerva (a Roman goddess). Aside from these monuments, there's a famous monkey structure if you walk across the bridge. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore more.
I learned that this bridge has nine red sandstone arches.
Did you know each arch has some markings indicating the dates and height of the floods occurred in the Neckar river?
