A Musical and Romantic Night in Venice
Travel Date:
Sunday, 25th May 2014
After taking some few shots at the Piazza de San Marco, our tour director took us to Gran Caffee Chioggia for drinks and nibbles (pulutan) and to witness a musical show. The cafe is located across the right wing of the Museo di Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace/Museum). We had actually passed the cafe on our way to St. Mark's Square. The musical show was performed by a talented violinist Joseph Miotti and his equally amazing musicians. I think they called themselves as the "The Italian Style Quartet" It was entertaining and we enjoyed those tricks to adding humour to the show.
They played a familiar song, "My heart will go on". It wasn't our fave song but when it played beautifully added color to the romantic evening. Other entertaining songs they played were: "Isn't She Lovely" by Steve Wonder, "A Whiter Shade of Pale", "The Godfather Theme song". While the performance was ongoing, I've noticed a lot of tourists came to stop by, could not resist but witness these quartet music in Venice.
Many people said that Venice is a romantic place and I am not really sure why. I came to think of it. Was it the place, or the mood? Maybe because we're just surrounded by wonderful people? Hmm, or the occasion? Perhaps! But later I reckoned I just felt special, important and loved. I just couldn't believe where able to visit this place and celebrate the joyous occasion with hubby -- our anniversary.
