Touchdown in Amsterdam

Seven-thirty in the morning was our landing time in Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. It seemed like it was a big airport because we had to walk for about 10 munites to reach at the arrival area for the immigration check. Thanks to our agent for the proper and organized travel documents, it was blissful! The immigration officer was friendly and even cracked a joke with me when I introduced hubby to him like this, "He is my husband..." and he said, "Are you sure?" With a smile. :) He just asked a couple of questions such as, "Is this your first time to travel to Europe?","How many days you will be staying in Amsterdam", "Are you going to other countries?" Then that's it and his last words were, "Welcome to Amsterdam."

After we had claimed our luggage, we looked a direction going to a taxi stand. The weather was fine, but we had to put on our jackets because it was a bit cold. An available cab immediately stopped in front of us then the driver was kind enough to help us put our luggage in the trunk. He informed us that it would take around 30 minutes to reach our destination (hotel) and we had to pay 60 euros. Noticed the driver speaks good English and he seemed polite. He wasn't a chatty, so I just keep on asking him some questions so that I won't be feeling sleepy.

Reached Moevenpick City Centre Hotel at past 0800 hrs but it was too early to our check-in time so we didn't get a room. The receptionist advised us to check during lunch time. We're hoping someone will check out soon. For the meantime, hubby and I decided to leave our luggage at the concierge, so that we can explore the city on our own.
